Hello my friends!

Lots of you have met me; I’m the Office Assistant at Print One. Print One is letting me out to write some of my experiences and share some great “finds” I come across in the Granbury and Glen Rose area!

We have some great restaurants as clients and I decided to go see for myself what they are all about! Breeds, such as myself, are very versed in dining out – so here are my tips from Rinky-tinks, Groggy Dog, Joe’s Pasta and Pizza and Del Norte Taco.

I, myself, always like to start off with a little something sweet! Scampering into Rinky-tinks I think first, “Table or Bar Stool”? Table it is! I order up the new, and oh-so-delicious, “Pizzooki”. A Pizzooki is the yummiest warm soft chocolate chip cookie topped with a big scoop of Blue Bell Country Vanilla ice cream, and drizzled with warm chocolate and caramel sauces! OMG! Omg! oMg! omG! Makes a dog want to howl!!

I stopped in to see Cutter the owner of Joe’s Pasta & Pizza and let him know I had arrived and I’m hungrier than a Mastiff! The atmosphere is very calming, next time I’ll bring a date. I order up a meat strombolli with tons of meat, cheese and sauce inside a warm pocket of Joe’s pizza dough. Next time it’s pizza, or maybe fettucini! Rama Ria!! (Get ut?)

I felt like something near the water, hmmmm, yep, Groggy Dog. When I arrive at Groggy Dog, I trotted on down the gang plank onto a floating restaurant. Yes folks, I said a floating restaurant! I chose to eat outside (you know – dogs – breeze in the face). There is also a bar inside and outside. You’ve heard of a finicky feline? Well, I’m a connoisseur canine! For dinner I decided on the FISH Tacos! Three grilled pieces of cod topped with cabbage, guac-sauce and mango pico with a side of coleslaw. They also have music on Friday, Saturday and Sunday’s. The fish is so good it makes a dog’s tail curl!

I have a cousin that lives near Godley and she and I dropped by Del Norte Taco for lunch. I have nothing against Chihuahua’s, but she didn”t eat nearly as much as I did! Rita and I chose to order the house-made chips and homemade guacamole for starters and then moved on to burritos and taquitos. All of their meats are hand rubbed and marinated with their own house-made rubs and marinades and grilled or smoked. ¡Ay, caramba!

With the dog days of summer upon us, don’t cook at home. Head on out to any of these wonderful restaurants and tell ‘em Pepper sent ya’!
